Matilda the Musical by Coach

Inspired by Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s novel, Matilda The Musical is the captivating masterpiece from the Royal Shakespeare Company. With sparkling writing by Dennis Kelly and outstanding songs by the celebrated composer and lyricist Tim Minchin, the musical adds a new dimension to this family favourite. Original songs, creative sets, an extraordinary cast and phenomenal choreography combine to create a triumph which revels in the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination.

Recipient of over 90 international awards, Matilda The Musical tells the story of an incredibly intelligent young girl who dares to change her destiny, even if it means being a little bit naughty! All of the recognisable scenes from Dahl’s brilliant novel remain, from Amanda being whizzed across the stage by her pigtails to Bruce being made to eat a giant chocolate cake. Witty and exuberant, this musical truly sets Dahl’s tale alight to produce what The Sunday Times calls ‘the stand-out musical of the decade’!

Itinerary

Day 1

From a morning pickup in your local area we travel by coach to our hotel. After check-in and some time to relax we continue on to London's theatre district, where there’s time to find somewhere for dinner before the evening theatre performance. After the show, the coach takes us back to our hotel for our overnight stay.

Day 2

After breakfast, we head back into London for some free time to shop or see the sights. From a trip on the London Eye, to a spot of shopping on Oxford Street or a stroll through Hyde Park – there is plenty to do. We set off for home in the mid-afternoon.

We’ll stay at a well-appointed hotel outside London. The comfortable rooms are en suite and other facilities include a bar and restaurant.

Hotels with a JG3 rating tend to be a more formal style of hotel, often part of a hotel chain, or are very-welcoming family-owned properties. Generally, they offer a greater range of facilities and services, and bedrooms tend to be a little more spacious with additional features. Public areas are larger and include lounge seating, bar and restaurant with good quality food served either buffet style or waiter service.

JG4 rating

Accommodation in our JG4 category is of an even higher standard, typically offering a wide range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are designed to make your stay the most comfortable possible and the staff provide a service that reflects the detail and quality. You can also expect higher standards of food and beverages.

After breakfast, we head back into London for some free time to shop or see the sights. From a trip on the London Eye, to a spot of shopping on Oxford Street or a stroll through Hyde Park – there is plenty to do. Or why not enjoy an optional visit to the Tower of London (£32pp), one of the city’s most iconic attractions? We set off for home in the mid-afternoon.

Helpful Information

Please note: We use central coach drop-off points for our London tours, so these breaks may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. You will be required to walk for around 15 to 20 minutes to reach your theatre and/or attraction.

Whilst we always try to ensure that parties are seated in the theatre together, very occasionally, due to the ticket allocations we receive, it may be necessary for parties to be split. We always ensure that couples are seated together.
